Hall of Fame induction
The late Tillie Anderson was inducted into Minnewaukan’s Hall of Fame in a ceremony at Summerfest July 29. Mark Motis, a member of the Minnewaukan City Council, inducted her in the absence of Mayor Curt Yri. Her children accepted plaques commemorating the induction. On the left is Mary Beck of Everett, Wash. and on the right is Paul Anderson of Mukilteo, Wash.
Citizen of the Year
Lori Kay Howard of Minnewaukan was designated Minnewaukan’s Citizen of the Year in a ceremony during Summerfest on July 29. She has spent many hours in volunteer work for city and county organizations. She is shown with Mark Motis, who presided at the designation ceremony.
Howard Schmid drove this truck in the parade. On the door it says "Schmid Farm, Lallie, ND 58357?."
Ebach Construction had this model of some of the Ebach equipment on a trailer pulled by a semi.
The Gunnerud-Dietrich American Legion Post 86 of Minnewaukan led the parade with flags and a color guard. Left to right are Floyd Dressen, Jerome Dahlen, Mark Motis and Carrol Rognlie.
Wayne Nelson of Oberon drove this beautifully restored Allis Chalmers tractor with two-bottom plow in the parade.
Roger Odden drove his Chrysler 300 pace car in the parade.
Hailey Kallenbach of Maddock received a champion ribbon with her dolphin pillow at the ND State Fair in Minot. She is a member of Benson County 4-H.
Janna Rice of Maddock received a champion ribbon in age 12-14 western riding, a champion ribbon in western reining and a reserve champion ribbon in trail in the 4-H Horse Show at the ND State Fair in Minot. She also received the high point award. She is a member of Benson County 4-H.
Preston Gilderhus is pictured with the grand champion plaque he received for his Pathways project at the Benson County 4-H Achievement days July 7-8 in Maddock. He was inadvertently missed in the July 26 issue of the Farmers Press. He participated in the Showcase at the ND State Fair with his project entitled "Geothermal: Another Heating Source."
