NOTICE OF ELECTION
OBERON SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 16
Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 the annual Oberon School District election will be held for the purpose of electing one member to the school board for a term of three years.
The question of whether or not to publish the minutes in the county newspaper will also be on the ballot.
The polling place will be in the Oberon School lunch room, and polls will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING
MINNEWAUKAN CITY COUNCIL
May 25, 2010
A special meeting of the Minnewaukan City Council was called to order by Mayor Trish McQuoid at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the Minnewaukan City Library. Also present were council members Rita Staloch, Steve Huffman and Shane Monda; City Auditor Deb Trnka, Scott Roscoe of FEMA, Mike Hall of the State Water Commission, Richard Anderson of the North Central Planning Council and Dale Halvorson.
A motion was made by Huffman to approve the agenda. Staloch seconded.
The motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Staloch to go forward with the Section 22 Study to be conducted by the Army Corps of Engineers. Monda seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Staloch to accept the bid of Ebach Construction for a wave barrier on the east side of the school. Monda seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Huffman to approve bills. Monda seconded. The motion carried unanimously. Bills approved were:

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at 5:30 pm.

MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING
MADDOCK CITY COUNCIL
Monday, May 17, 2010
Mayor Rodney Maddock called a special meeting of the Maddock City Council to order May 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Maddock City Hall. Present for roll call were the following council members: Kent Neppl, Lu Mathison, Marilyn Allan and Larry Summers.
The reason for the special meeting was to review Chapter 8 of the Model Municipal Ordinance Code and have the second reading of the garbage ordinance #18-01-01.
The second reading of ordinance #18-01-01 on garbage rates was held.
Residential rates will increase from $15.00 to $20.00 per month; commercial rates will vary depending on usage. A motion to approve this monthly increase was made by Allan. Neppl seconded. The motion carried.
This increase will take effect on June 1, 2010.

MADDOCK CITY COUNCIL
Thursday, May 20, 2010
Mayor Rodney Maddock called a special meeting of the Maddock City Council to order May 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Maddock City Hall. Present for roll call were the following council members: Lu Mathison, Marilyn Allan and Larry Summers. Absent was Kent Neppl. Others present were Debbie Tracy, Leland Hagen and Paul Backstrom.
The reason for the special meeting was to discuss the future of the Plum’s Hardware Building.
Debbie Tracy gave a review of her work performance for the past year as Maddock Community Development Director.

MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
KNOX CITY COUNCIL
May 14, 2010
A regular meeting of the Knox City Council was held Friday, May 14, 2010 at 7 p.m. at the Knox Fire Hall. Present were Mayor Lloyd Marchus, Aldermen Sharon Hart and JP Robbins and City Auditor Pat Robbins. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Marchus.
The minutes of the last meeting were read by Auditor Robbins. A motion was made by Alderman Hart, seconded by Alderman Robbins, to approve the minutes. The motion carried.
The financial reports were presented by Auditor Robbins. A motion was made by Alderman Robbins, seconded by Alderman Hart, to approve the reports. The motion carried. Bills paid for April were as follows:
Waste Management of ND $304.70
Otter Tail Power Co. 256.15
Benson Co. Farmers Press 32.16

Benson Co. Treasurer 200.00
Mayor Marchus presented information he had obtained from attending a FEMA kick-off meeting at Devils Lake May 12, 2010. However this information pertained more to the township road and bridges. Another FEMA meeting was held Monday, May 17, 2010 at Minnewaukan. Mayor Marchus and Auditor Robbins attended this meeting. Application for FEMA assistance for the city of Knox was made at this meeting. All information is complete and the next step is an agent of FEMA will contact the city and inspect damage. A decision on assistance will be determined at that point.
The next regular meeting will be held Friday, June 11, 2010 at 3 p.m. at the Knox Fire Hall.
There being no further business, a motion was made by Alderman Robbins, seconded by Alderman Hart, to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried.

WARWICK PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 29
Notice is hereby given by Warwick School District No. 29 that on Tuesday, June 9, 2010, the annual election will be held for the purpose of electing one board member for a three-year term to represent the geographic area of the city of Warwick and Warwick, Odessa and Minco Townships.
The Warwick School District No. 29 polls are located at the school gymnasium and will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Absentee ballots are available at the school office until June 8.
