NOTICE OF HEARING

ON APPLICATION TO DRAIN WATER

FROM DEVILS LAKE TO THE SHEYENNE RIVER

TAKE NOTICE that the State Water Commission, 900 East Boulevard Avenue, Bismarck, ND 58505, has filed an application for a permit to drain water from Devils Lake to the Sheyenne River to address flooding impacts of the rising level of Devils Lake. The project involves upgrading the capacity of the existing Devils Lake Outlet from 100 cfs to 250 cfs. The existing Devils Lake Outlet consists of three miles of pipeline, eleven miles of open channel and two pump stations. Water is taken from Round Lake, which is currently connected to the West Bay of Devils Lake. The drain outlet discharges into an oxbow of the Sheyenne River in the SE 1/4 of Section 8, Township 151 North, Range 68 West. The application has been determined by the State Engineer to be of statewide and interdistrict significance.

TAKE NOTICE that the Ramsey and Towner County Water Resource Districts will consider said application in a hearing to be held January 26, 2010 at 9 a.m. in the Robert Fawcett Auditorium, Lake Region State College, 1801 College Drive North, Devils Lake, ND. This hearing is being held to provide all persons interested an opportunity to present their view in person or in writing.

All documentary information the applicant intends to present at the hearing will be available for public review in the offices of the Towner County Auditor, Towner County Courthouse, Cando, ND and the Ramsey County Water Resource District, Ramsey County Courthouse, Devils Lake, ND at least fourteen (14) days prior to the hearing.

If auxiliary aids or services such as readers, signers, or Braille material are required, please contact the Ramsey County Water Resource District, c/o Jim Herda, 524 4th Avenue #12, Devils Lake, ND

58301 at least seven (7) days prior to the hearing.

MADDOCK CITY COUNCIL

December 14, 2009

A special meeting of the Maddock City Council was called to order by Mayor Rodney Maddock December 14, 2009 at 6 p.m. at city hall. Present for roll call were council members Kent Neppl, Marilyn Allan and Larry Summers.

The reason for the special meeting was to review the Model Municipal Zoning Ordinance Code.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

December 29, 2009

A special meeting of the Maddock City Council was called to order by Mayor Rodney Maddock December 29, 2009 at 6 p.m. at city hall.

Present for roll call were council members Kent Neppl, Marilyn Allan and Larry Summers. Also present were Travis Peterson and Debbie Tracy.

The reason for the special meeting was to review the Zoning Ordinance with City Attorney Travis Peterson.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
