Notice is hereby given that by virtue of a Judgment in foreclosure by the District Court in and for the County of Benson, North Dakota in Northeast Judicial District, docketed in the office of the Clerk of District Court in such county on April 1, 2008, in an action wherein Ramsey National Bank & Trust Company was the Plaintiff, and Glen Tofsrud; United States Department of Treasury, Internal Revenue Service; SWS Credit Services Inc. d/b/a Lake Region Collection and Credit Bureau; and Vining Oil and Gas were Defendants, in which decree it was adjudged that there was due and owing to the Plaintiff upon said mortgage indebtedness, together with the costs and disbursements of the action, the sum of $269,628.87, including interest through March 21, 2008, accruing thereafter at a rate of $69.03 per day; by virtue of a writ of Special Execution to me issued out of the office of the Clerk of said Court, I will sell the property described in the Judgment to the highest bidder for cash, at public auction, at the front door of the Courthouse in the City of Minnewaukan, Benson County, North Dakota, on May 27, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. of that day, to satisfy the amount due with accrued costs to the date of sale, or so much thereof as the proceeds of the sale will satisfy.

The premises to be sold are located in the County of Benson, State of North Dakota, and are described as follows:

SW1/4 Section 11, S1/2NE1/4 and Lots 1 & 2 Section 4, NW1/4 & N1/2SW1/4 Section 17, and

S1/2SW1/4 Section 8, all in T154N-R67W;

SE1/4SW1/4 & SE1/4 Section 27, S1/2SW1/4 &

NW1/4SW1/4 & SW1/4NW1/4 Section 26, S1/2SE1/4 &

NW1/4SE1/4 Section 28, all in T153N-R69W; excepting therefrom a tract of land located in the SW1/4NW1/4 Section 26-T153N-R69W more particularly described as Parcel 4 of the Plat filed May 24, 1976, in Book E of Plats, on Page 52, containing 28.12 acres, more or less, being the same Real Estate conveyed to the United States of America by a Warranty Deed dated July 26, 1976, and recorded at the Benson County Register of Deeds on July 27, 1976, at 9:55 a.m.

MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING

MINNEWAUKAN SCHOOL BOARD

March 17, 2008

A regular meeting of the Minnewaukan Board of Education was called to order by Chairman David Ambers on March 17, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. Also present were Randy Thompson, Terry Yri, Laura Every, Ron Carlson and Dianne Mikkelson. Corey Erickson, Myron Jury and Jean Callahan were absent.

Yri made a motion, seconded by Thompson, to approve the agenda. The motion carried.

Yri made a motion, seconded by Thompson, to approve the football co-op between Leeds, Minnewaukan and Maddock. Roll call vote was taken with all members present voting yes. Erickson was absent. The motion carried.

A letter of resignation from coaching boys’

basketball by Ron Carlson was received and discussed.

Thompson made a motion, seconded by Every, to participate in the Lake Region Area Career & Technology Center for the 2008-09 school year. The motion carried.

Every made a motion, seconded by Thompson, to approve the maintenance agreement with ND Telephone Co. The motion carried.

Every made a motion, seconded by Yri, to approve the minutes from the Feb. 6 and 22, 2008 meetings. The motion carried.

Thompson made a motion, seconded by Every, to approve the bills for payment. The motion carried.

Discussion was held on negotiations, five year plan and closed road.

The Minnewaukan Board of Education would like to congratulate Christina Cloud for qualifying for the state spelling bee; Travis Risovi for being selected region coach of the year; Ron Carlson for being selected district and region coach of the year; the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams for a great season; and Reid Haagenson for being selected the district and region senior athlete of the year.

The next meeting will be April 14, 2008 at 6:30 p.m.

Thompson made a motion, seconded by Yri, to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.

MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING

LEEDS SCHOOL BOARD

March 18, 2008

A regular meeting of the Leeds Board of Education was held March 18, 2008 at 7 p.m. Present were Linda Young, Randy Silliman, Gene Larson, Mark Swanson, Melody Bracken, Supt. Joel Braaten,

Elementary Principal Carol Braaten and Business Manager Kathy Benson.

Vice Chairman Silliman called the meeting to order. Additions to agenda: 6 b) letter from attorney, James Wang; 8) schedule Long Range Planning meeting.

The minutes of the special meeting of March 6 and the regular meeting of Feb. 20, 2008 were approved as written with corrections.

Mr. Braaten updated the board on the progress of the Energy Savings Project. Lighting is almost complete, lunchroom and offices are left.

Training on the air handling units computer control was today.

Melody Bracken arrived. Mark Swanson left the meeting.

It was moved, seconded and carried to approve the NDHSAA application for a football co-op with Minnewaukan and Maddock for the 2009, 2010 and 2011 seasons.

Linda Young arrived and assumed the chair of the meeting.

It was moved, seconded and carried to approve the

2008-09 school calendar: teacher in-service Aug.

19; first day of school Aug. 20, 2008; and graduation May 24, 2009.

The board read a thank you note from the Arlyne Paulson family for the floral tribute sent to her service.

Mr. Braaten presented a letter from James Wang, Attorney at Law, for review of property previously known as Gallinger School District. A request for a quit claim deed has been made. The issue was tabled until next meeting.

It was moved, seconded and carried to approve the financial reports for February 2008 and approve all bills through March 18 for payment.

The high school principal’s report was presented:

teachers’ evaluations completed; Harvey speech meets; parent-teachers conferences were attended by 65%; FFA attended the Winter Show in Valley City; FCCLA Star Events; Daffodil Days; Benson County Math Counts; high school phy. ed. field trip — bowling and cross-country skiing; and track has started.

Congratulations to the Lions basketball teams.

The boys’ finished second in the district tournament and the girls’ finished second in the regional tournament. Congratulations to Coach Carlson for being named District 8 and Region 4 coach of the year and to Coach Risovi for being named Region 4 coach of the year.

Congratulations to Katrina Lybeck for being selected to the ND Academic All-State Gold Team.

Mrs. Braaten presented the elementary principal’s

report: teachers’ evaluations completed; Benson County Music Festival; D.I. state competition on April 5; Citizen’s Community Bank presentation on checking accounts; Market Place on Thursday; the fourth grade will be attending the Ag Pizza Day presentation; elementary math meet on April 28; Iditarod was a huge success, thanks to Carol Thompson for all her work and to the high school students who helped out.

Mr. Braaten reported on the recent NESC meeting:

governing board meeting; teachers center is now professional development center, LEGO? Kits.

The board reviewed data for negotiations (base salary and benefits) and compared area schools.

Linda Young and Melody Bracken will be board representatives. The board will exchange packets with the LEA Thursday, March 20 at 3:45 p.m.

The term of Randy Silliman as board

representative on the Medhus Scholarship committee is up this year. It was agreed by remaining board members that Mr. Silliman continue to represent the board on this committee as the other members have graduating students this year.

A faculty representative will be recruited and a meeting scheduled in the next month.

It was moved, seconded and carried to approve the early retirement application for Maxine Heisler.

It was moved, seconded and carried to approve the early retirement application for Daniel Stave.

It was moved, seconded and carried to waive the April 1 deadline for negotiations.

It was moved, seconded and carried to approve the full-day every day kindergarten all year starting 2008-09. Literacy skills evaluations were reviewed and students’ needs and flexibility were discussed (Leeds does not have pre-school or summer school). Attendance is not mandatory as kindergarten is an option.

The 2008 Long Range Planning meeting is scheduled for April 10, 2008 at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Braaten presented the superintendent’s

report: football scoreboard insurance claim; science teacher opening; maintenance project to replace windows; boys’ golf coach; and review common rules of eligibility and summer rules.

The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at 7 p.m.

The meeting adjourned.

ANNUAL SCHOOL BOARD

ELECTION NOTICE

ONE OPENING ON FORT TOTTEN

PUBLIC SCHOOL BOARD

Stephanie Anderson, business manager of the Fort Totten Public School Board, has announced there will be one (1) position open on the board. This position will be a three (3) year term. The candidate shall reside within the rural areas of the Fort Totten Public School District No. 30 and shall be voted upon by the district at large.

Anyone wishing to run for this election must file a statement setting forth the candidate’s name and the position for which the person is a candidate. Candidates must also sign and file a Statement of Interest with the school district business manager. The final date for filing will be at 4:30 p.m. on May 15, 2008.

Anyone who is 18 years of age and has resided in the Fort Totten Public School District No. 30 for at least 30 days preceding the election is entitled to vote and/or file as a candidate in this school board election.

The annual school board election will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2008.

The polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Fort Totten Blue Building meeting room.
