NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Gladys Giedd has filed with the Judge of the District Court of Benson County, North Dakota, a Petition for Adjudication of Intestacy and Determination of Heirs in the matter of the above named Deceased, Roy Giedd.

The assets of the estate consist of, in addition to other property, an interest in the following described real estate in Benson County, North Dakota: the South Half of the Northwest Quarter, Lots Three and Four, of Section Two, Township One Hundred Fifty-one, Range Sixty-Eight (S1/2NW1/4, Lots 3 and 4, 2-151-68).

Hearing has been set to consider the Petition on the 10th day of March, 2008, at 2:30 o’clock p.m. at the Courtroom of the Benson County District Court in the City of Minnewaukan, County of Benson, State of North Dakota, at which time and place you may be heard if you wish.

MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING

MADDOCK CITY COUNCIL

February 4, 2008

A regular meeting of the Maddock City Council was held February 4,

2008 at 7 p.m. at the council chambers. Members present to answer roll call were Mayor Kevin Winson and council members Daniel Hoffert, Wayne Knatterud, Marilyn Allan and Rodney Maddock. Also present were Ned Mitzel and Lu Mathison.

Allan made a motion, seconded by Knatterud, to approve the minutes of the January 8, 2008 meeting. The motion carried.

A motion was made by Knatterud, seconded by Maddock, to approve the following bills. The motion carried.

A motion was made by Maddock, seconded by Hoffert, to allow Frank Mosser and Keith Winson to attend the annual operator training convention in Bismarck. The motion carried.

A motion was made by Hoffert, seconded by Allan, to give Jean Mosser a $1,000.00 cash gift for her retirement party. The motion carried.

A motion was made by Knatterud to deny any retirement benefits for Jean. The motion died due to lack of a second. After a brief discussion Knatterud made a motion, seconded by Maddock, for Jean to receive half the supplemental insurance for five years. The motion carried.

A motion was made by Maddock, seconded by Knatterud, to allow the class of 1973 to place a large tent on the south side of the railroad tracks across from Arlo Schmidt’s for the all-school reunion in July.

The motion carried.

The Benson County 4-H Exchange requested a gaming permit for a Texas Hold ’em Tournament. Knatterud made a motion, seconded by Allan, to approve the gaming permit. The motion carried.

A motion was made by Maddock, seconded by Knatterud, to appoint Donna Rice to assist auditor Pam Lee with office duties when needed. The motion carried.

A motion was made by Maddock, seconded by Hoffert, to approve a six month (Jan.-June) liquor license and one year beer license for the Double R Bar. The motion carried.

One liquor/dance permit request was presented by the park board/rodeo club for the charity ball. A motion to approve was made by Allan, seconded by Hoffert. The motion carried.

A six month contract between the Maddock Public School and the City of Maddock for the use of the Multi- Purpose Building was presented.

Knatterud made a motion to approve the contract, seconded by Hoffert.

The motion carried.

A motion was made by Maddock, seconded by Allan, to have city engineer Travis Dillman assist in the application process for the CDBG funding from North Central Planning for the raw water transmission line replacement. The motion carried.

A motion was made by Knatterud, seconded by Hoffert, that Auditor Pam Lee receive a wage increase and a single BlueCross BlueShield health and dental plan. The motion carried.

A motion was made by Maddock, seconded by Hoffert, that the city pay meal expenses when the council and committee members must meet on city related business. The motion carried.

Lu Mathison was present to update the council on the progress of the Horizons Committee. He also reported that Mr. Bubach submitted a grant request to Homeland Security for surveillance cameras at the school and Multi-Purpose Building. Anyone with a password can view via their computer.

The next meeting will be March 3, 2008 at 7 p.m..

There being no further business, on motion made and seconded the meeting was adjourned.
