I, Bonnie Erickson, County Auditor for Benson County, State of North Dakota, do hereby certify that the above report of election results is a full, true and correct report of the Abstract of Votes, now on file in this office, showing the number of votes cast for the listed candidates for the ND House of Representatives from Benson County in Legislative District 23 in the November 7, 2006 General Election.

November 21, 2006
The Benson County Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, November 21, 2006, at 9 a.m. Commissioners present: Barry Cox, Curtis Hvinden, Ed Ripplinger and Jason Lee. Dwain Brown was absent. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ripplinger.
A motion was made by Cox, seconded by Lee, to approve the minutes of the regular meeting held November 7, 2006. The motion carried unanimously.
Steve Rohrer, Benson County Sheriff elect, met with the board.
Commissioner Hvinden requested a deputy be stationed in Maddock.
Rohrer stated he will contact the various cities in the county to contract for policing services. He informed the board he is considering hiring new deputies to work in the department, the department will still employee three deputies. He commented that his post board certification is now complete. The board informed him that each deputy is responsible for purchasing their own weapons.
Rohrer discussed having one of the deputies a "chief deputy".
Norma Jean Neumiller, Benson County Transportation, met with the board to present the proposed 2007 budget for the transportation department. A motion was made by Hvinden, seconded by Lee to approve the budget as presented. The motion carried unanimously.
The board reviewed the Narrative Report for October, 2006, submitted by Shelley Aabrekke, Public Health Nurse.
The board also reviewed a letter from KevLott Testing Services dated November 8, 2006. A motion was made by Lee, seconded by Hvinden to enter into a drug and alcohol testing contract with KevLott Testing.
The motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Lee, seconded by Cox to have the chairman sign a Purchase Agreement for the sale of Lots 3 and 17, Block 1, Mattern’s 1st Addition of Sec. 26, Twp. 153, Rge. 64, Benson County, ND. The motion carried unanimously.
At 10:00 a.m. the annual tax sale was held. Scott Foss of Maddock, ND, submitted the high bid of $1,081.45 for parcel no.
09-0000-01983-010 and 09-0000-01985-000, Steven D. Bergin of Winter Park, CO, submitted the high bid of $4,050.74 for parcel no.
47-0001-11287-000, and Grant Baker of LaMoure, ND, submitted the high bid of $6,950.00 for parcel no. 45-0001-10983-000. The board will sign county deeds transferring these parcels to the respective purchasers at their next regularly scheduled meeting. No bids were received for the following parcels: 32-0004-07853-000, 32-0004-07937-000, 33-0000-08024-020, 33-0001-07978-270, 33-0001-07978-280 and 37-0001-09059-110.
The board reviewed the memo and minutes from the October 11, 2006, meeting of the Devils Lake Basin Joint Water Resource District Board along with the Nov. 7, 2006, Devils Lake Basin Flows Chart, memo regarding the road and railroad crossing inventory, meeting notice, and memo regarding the 2006 budget amendments.
The board also reviewed a letter from the Office of the State Auditor dated November 15, 2006, regarding engaging the State Auditor’s Office for county audit services for the years 2006, 2007 and 2008. A motion was made by Hvinden, seconded by Cox to have the county auditor sign the contract. The motion carried unanimously.
Further, the board reviewed a memo from the Lake Region Law Enforcement Center dated November 16, 2006 regarding E-911 Authority budgets for the 2007 year.
The motion carried unanimously to adjourn the meeting.

PUBLIC NOTICE
North Central Planning Council
A second public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 9 a.m. in the Maddock City Hall, 309 2nd St. and Dakota Ave., Maddock, North Dakota.
PURPOSE OF MEETING:
1. To discuss the use of CDBG funds by the City of Maddock in the lift station project. (The use of funds did not change from the application.) 2. To inform the public about the North Dakota Community Development Block Grant and to gain public input into the program.
3. To gather comments about the project.
Comments will be accepted until December 19, 2006 at the following
address: North Central Planning Council, PO Box 651, Devils Lake, ND 58301-0651.
