MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING

MADDOCK SCHOOL BOARD

April 11, 2006

A regular meeting of the Maddock School Board was held April 11, 2006 at 5:15 p.m. Present were President David Swanson, Becky Brandvold, Chris Lauinger, Linda Ellingson, David Kenner, Superintendent Brian Bubach, Principals Penny Leier and Kim Anderson and Business Manager Brenda Fossen. Donna Johnson and Flo Kallenbach were guests.

A motion was made by Kenner, seconded by Lauinger, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Ellingson, seconded by Brandvold, to approve the March 14, 23 and 28 minutes, the General Fund bills totaling $32,838.10, food service and activities reports. Motion carried.

Principals’ reports were reviewed. Activities discussed were the science fair, FCCLA and Academic Challenge. Principals are hoping to schedule a presentation from the Mental Health Association.

A motion was made by Brandvold, seconded by Lauinger, to accept the Ramsey Bank Pledge Pool Notification. On roll call vote, all were in favor.

A motion was made by Kenner, seconded by Lauinger, to accept the three-year asbestos re-inspection contract for $245 per inspection.

On roll call vote, all were in favor.

Mr. Bubach discussed summer building projects. A student will be hired for mowing this year.

A preview of the long-range planning handouts was given for the board to review. The public presentation will be May 9 at 7:30 p.m.

The final review of the district policy book will be this summer when current policies are inserted into the new format.

The board negotiations team will meet with Mr.

Bubach on April 20 at 5:15 p.m. to discuss administration and business manager salaries.

The next regular meeting will be May 9 at 5:30 p.m.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The public is invited to attend the Maddock School District’s Long-Range Planning Meeting on May 9 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the high school music room. The three to five year demographics of the district will be discussed. A copy of the presentation will be available in the school office upon request.

NOTICE OF ELECTION

MADDOCK SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 9

Notice is hereby given by Brenda Fossen, Business Manager, of the Maddock School District No. 9, that on the second Tuesday, the 13th day of June, 2006, an annual election will be held for the purpose of electing two members to the school board, each for a term of three years.

Any candidate for election as a member to the school board of a school district shall file with the Business Manager of the School Board, not less than 33 days before the election, and before four o’clock p.m. on the thirty-third day, a statement setting forth his or her name and the position for which he or she is a candidate. A statement that is mailed to the Business Manager shall be in physical possession of the Business Manager before four o’clock on the thirty-third day before the election. The closing date and time for filing will be May 11, 2006 at 4:00 p.m.

School board members with expiring terms are Linda Ellingson, representing Arne and South Viking and parts of East Fork and West Antelope Townships of Benson County; and parts of Fram, Heimdal, Norway Lake and Valhalla Townships of Wells County; and Rebecca Brandvold, representing North Viking and Hesper Townships, and parts of Aurora and Rich Valley Townships of Benson County; and parts of Alexanter Township of Pierce County.

The Maddock School District polls are located in the Maddock School Resource Center. Polls will be open on June 13, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

ANNUAL SCHOOL BOARD

ELECTION NOTICE

TWO OPENINGS ON FORT TOTTEN

PUBLIC SCHOOL BOARD

Stephanie Anderson, business manager of the Fort Totten Public School Board, has announced there will be two (2) positions open on the board.

These positions will each be a three (3) year term. The candidates shall reside within the rural areas of the Fort Totten Public School District No. 30 and shall be voted upon by the district at large.

Anyone wishing to run for this election must file a statement setting forth the candidate’s name and the position for which the person is a candidate. Candidates must also sign and file a Statement of Interest with the school district business manager. The final date for filing will be at 4:30 p.m. on May 18, 2006.

Anyone who is 18 years of age and has resided in the Fort Totten Public School District No. 30 for at least 30 days preceding the election is entitled to vote and/or file as a candidate in this school board election.

The annual school board election will be held on June 20, 2006.

The polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Fort Totten Blue Building meeting room.

NOTICE OF ELECTION

LEEDS PUBLIC SCHOOL

DISTRICT NO. 6

Notice is hereby given that the Leeds Public School District No. 6 annual election will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at the Leeds Public School for the following purpose:

To elect one director for a three-year term to represent Springfield, Irvine, Chain Lakes, DeGroat, Coulee (north of Highway 2) Townships, east half of Leeds Township and the city of Churchs Ferry.

Any candidates for election as a member to the school board of a school district must file with the school district Business Manager, before 4 o’clock p.m. on the thirty-third day prior to the election, a statement setting forth his or her name and the position for which that person is a candidate. A statement that is mailed to the Business Manager must be in the physical possession of the Business Manager before 4:00 p.m. on the 33rd day before the election. The closing date and time for filing as a candidate in this year’s election is 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2006.

Polls will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Notice is hereby given by Linda Winning, Business Manager of Oberon School District No. 16, that on the second Tuesday, the 13th day, of June, 2006, an annual election will be held for the purpose of electing two members to the school board, each for a three-year term.

Any candidate for election as a member to the school board shall file with the Business Manager of the school board not less than 33 days before the election, by May 11, 2006, before 4:00 p.m., a statement setting forth his or her name and the position for which he or she is a candidate. A statement that is mailed to the Business Manager shall be in physical possession of the Business Manager before 4:00 p.m. on the 33rd day before the election, May 11, 2006.

School board members with expiring terms are Patricia Anderson and Greg Thomas. School board members are elected at large. Holdover members of the board are Yvonne Thumb, Paula Deckert, and Karen Peterson.

The Oberon School District polls are located in the Oberon School lunchroom. Polls will be open on June 13, 2006 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
