CALL FOR BIDS. State Highway Spraying. Sealed bids will be received by the Benson County Weed Board for the application of weed control chemical on State and Federal Highway right of way in Benson County until Monday, April 14, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at the regular meeting. This includes approximately 175 miles of highway (including approximately 20 miles of dual lane) all of which are located within Benson County. The bid request is for the hourly rate to be charged to the Board for a spray vehicle and two men, one as a driver and one as an applicator. The County Weed Officer will supervise and inspect the work and will determine the starting time. The spray contractor will be required to keep a daily log of the highway section sprayed; wind direction and approximate velocity, including changes of weather during the day and furnish a copy to the Weed Control Officer. The contractor must carry his own insurance and will hold the Weed Board free of any and all claims from the work performed. Hourly time must be kept separate for each highway number. The bid specifications are: 1. Hourly rate; 2. Number of vehicles; 3. Make and size of vehicle; and 4. Make and pressure capacity of spray equipment. The Benson County Weed Board reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids in the best interest of the County, and to waive any technicalities or irregularities therein.
