Esmond team has reunion
The 1983 Esmond Girls Basketball Team was honored at the Class B girls
basketball state tournament for having taken second place that year and
members of the team, spouses and fans met after the ceremony in the
hospitality room, where photos were taken. Left to right, back row, are

girls basketball team will receive the same honor at next year's state
tournament, as the team was runner-up to Hillsboro.

Esmond native founds
steel construction business in Fargo
Esmond native Wade Wolf is making a name for himself in Fargo
construction circles.
Wolf Steel Construction is a Fargo-based construction company founded by
Wolf in 1999. Since that time it has become one of the tri-state area's
leading competitors in the construction of steel-framed industrial and
commercial buildings.
Wolf has more than 20 years experience in the steel construction
industry. Wolf Steel is headquartered at 1408 Second Ave. North in
Fargo. The company has projects in North Dakota, South Dakota and
Minnesota. Wolf Steel has constructed strip malls, restaurants,
breweries, telecommunication companies, theatres, churches and stairway
and handrail systems in the tri-state area.
With crews totaling up to 35 employees, the company can provide
certified structural welding, certified industrial and commercial pipe
welding, pre-cast plank, handrails and stairway installation. The

provides photos of some of the jobs completed or under construction.
One of his projects was in downtown Fargo's Renaissance Zone that added
two stories to existing buildings and turned them into condominiums
costing $250,000 and up.
Wolf is the son of Victor Wolf of Esmond and the late MaryElaine Wolf.
He is the grandson of Katie Wolfe of Esmond and the late John Wolfe. His
maternal grandparents are the late John and Mary Dorscher.
He is a 1982 graduate of Esmond High School and attended NDSU. He has a
son, Jett, who is three years old.

One project Wolf Steel Construction is involved with is the construction
of condominiums on existing buildings in Fargo's Renaissance Zone.

Spelling champs
The Benson County Spelling Bee was held at the Minnewaukan School
February 23. Children from Oberon, Warwick, Leeds, Maddock, Minnewaukan,
Four Winds Middle School and Tate Topa in Fort Totten competed.
Advancing to state competition in Bismarck March 28 are, left, Jenae
Johnson, the 2008 county champ and an eighth grader from Maddock, and
Christina Cloud, the county runner-up and an eighth grader from
Minnewaukan. Alternate to state is Katherine Sears, a seventh grader
from Maddock.

Team wins first
The Benson County FFA team of Janna Rice and Rachel Olson from the A.S.
Gibbens FFA chapter of Maddock and Kristina Keller from the Harvey FFA
Chapter teamed up to take first place in the ND Open Class of the
hippology contest at the ND Winter Show in Valley City. Janna Rice
(center) was high individual in the contest with Kristina Keller (right)
placing fifth and Rachel Olson (left) placing 18th. The state hippology
contest tests the FFA members on knowledge and judging of horses along
with a team problem.

Indians do well at state
The No. 5 team for the 2007-08 North Dakota Class B boys' basketball
season, the Four Winds Indians, is shown proudly displaying their
trophy. Coaches Smith, Yankton and Dauphinais led the young team to a
third appearance in the state tournament held March 13-15 at the
