appointed personal representative of the above estate. All
persons having claims against the said deceased are required

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Doris E. Palmer has filed with the Judge
of the District Court of Benson County, North Dakota, a Petition for
Adjudication of Intestacy and Determination of Heirs in the matter
of the estate of the above named Francis J. Palmer of
Storrs-Mansfield, Connecticut.
The assets of the estate consist of, an interest in the following
described real property:
Lots One (1), Two (2), Three (3) and the North 12.5 feet of Lot Four
(4), all in Block Twenty-seven (27), Minnewaukan, North Dakota, and
Subdivision A of Government lot Four (4), Less Lot One (1) in
Section Fifteen (15), Township One Hundred Fifty-three (153) North,
Range Sixty Seven (67) West, in Benson County, North Dakota, such
later tract containing 14.30 acres, more or less.
Hearing has been set to consider the Petition on the 24th day of
October 2005, at 2:15 o'clock p.m. at the Courtroom of the Benson
County District Court in the City of Minnewaukan, County of Benson,
State of North Dakota, at which time and place you may be heard if

MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
MADDOCK SCHOOL BOARD
September 13, 2005
A regular meeting of the Maddock School Board was held Tuesday,
September
13 at 5:30 p.m. Present were President David Swanson, Becky
Brandvold, Chris Lauinger, Linda Ellingson, David Kenner,
Superintendent Brian Bubach, Principals Penny Leier and Kim Anderson
and Business Manager Brenda Fossen.
Guests were Nadley Buehler, David Johnson, Scott Foss and Bob
Buckmeir.
A motion was made by Lauinger, seconded by Brandvold, to approve the
agenda. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Kenner, seconded by Ellingson to approve the
minutes of August 9, 15 and 19, the General Fund bills totaling
$27,773.66, Building Fund bills totaling $1,070.41 and food service
and activities reports. Motion carried.

Principals' reports were reviewed.
A motion was made by Brandvold, seconded by Kenner, to approve a 50
cent per hour pro-rated salary increase for the non-certified staff.
On roll call vote, all were in favor.
A motion was made by Lauinger, seconded by Brandvold, to approve the
2005-06 General Fund revenue budget of $1,698,965.01 and expense
budget of $1,716,217.30, projecting a deficit of $17,252.29. On roll
call vote, all were in favor. Mr. Bubach stated textbook and bus
reserve allowances were reduced, but fuel expenses were increased.
Following a fall review of the bus routes, Mr. Bubach doesn't
recommend reducing to five afternoon bus routes due to the distances
traveled by the six current routes. However, he is looking for ways
to reduce extracurricular transportation. Projections of future
budget deficits and declining enrollment will mandate a review of
all staffing and programs.
Representatives of the Maddock Multi Purpose Building updated the
board on the building's progress to date. Mr. Bubach stated that a
contract dialog and building usage plan should begin, with the
contract to include a rental agreement. He will contact NDSBA and
legal services for further information.
A request from the Adams, Edmore, Starkweather and Munich School
Districts regarding participation in a lawsuit demonstrating to the
courts that current state legislation is equality-based legislation
and not equity-based, was discussed by the board. Mr. Bubach will
get more information.
Notification capabilities in the Power Lunch Program were compared
to the current food service collection policy. Revising the policy
was tabled until further review.
A motion was made by Lauinger, seconded by Ellingson, to approve the
district-paid tuition contract with Oberon. On roll call vote, all
were in favor.
The district health unit has provided a $250 grant for the
installation of signs prohibiting smoking on school property. The
prohibition of alcohol will be included on signs for the outlying
areas of the school grounds.
Chris Lauinger will represent the school board at NESC meetings.
The next regular meeting will be October 11 at 5 p.m. Meeting
adjourned.

CALL FOR BIDS
The North Viking and Viking Parsonage Committee is asking for bids
to replace 11 windows in the parish parsonage located in Maddock,
ND.
Specifications are available and can be picked up at the Maddock
City Hall Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or call
701-438-2438. Leave a message stating the mailing address and name
so specifications can be mailed.
Bids must include windows, inside casings and labor.
Bids should be sent to Joyce Rasmussen, PO Box 208, Maddock, ND
58348-0208 on or before October 24, 2005 at 5 p.m.
